The Aquavitro division 500 Protein Skimmer combines power, efficiency and intelligence to maintain optimal water parameters in complex saltwater and reef based environments. Well suited for a wide variety of sump related applications, the unit comes packed with a wide range of essential features that provide unmatched user control and functionality. The skimmer itself is incredibly sturdy in it’s construction, with a large cylindrical column that provides longer contact time for bubbles to improve the overall quality of the water. As well, the top of the column houses a durable, polycarbonate collection cup with a molded handle that makes it significantly easier to dispose of trapped organic materials.

We know that not every aquarium is the same, and that’s why the division 500 Protein Skimmer comes with a variety of easily adjustable features to suit any style or size aquarium. Both air flow and water flow can be fine-tuned to the specifications of the tank and the height based drain regulation can be adjusted helps to provide improved stability and less resistance within the column. As well, any variation in the water level of the skimmer will not negatively impact the operation of the unit itself. The powerful external pump creates higher column volume that leads to more contact time and surface area with the bubbles, providing a more efficient elimination of organic waste. As reef tanks are notoriously delicate, this highly advanced protein skimmer ensures that no microbubbles are released from the unit, which can cause irritation and damage to sensitive coral species.

Additional Pump Option

The Secondary Pump Kit (sold separately) allows you to finely adjust the amount of water you want to treat. The Pump recirculates water and air on itself, reducing consumption and optimizing skimming. This increases skimming efficiency by up to 30%.

Complete Micro Bubble Removal

The addition of a sponge and sock to the drain spillway prevents micro bubbles that may irritate corals from being released into the aquarium.

External Pump

Allows for higher column volume with more contact time and surface area. Allows for easy maintenance of the pump at anytime.

High Drain Point/Height Based Drain Regulation

A high drain point means no resistance and a more stable level in the skimmer vs bottom draining designs. Adjust the height of the drain tube and drain spillway by turning the threaded rod to adjust the level of the water and foam in the reaction column.

Versatile Sump Placement

division™ skimmers can be configured in a variety of ways to best fit your setup. Turn the collection cup and the spillway to the front, back, or side. Additionally, the silencer can be positioned in multiple places along the spillway. Even the height of the spillway can be incrementally changed to achieve the best performance.

division™ skimmers are guaranteed against defects of materials and workmanship for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase, except for the pump’s impeller. This can be extended to 5 years by registering your skimmer. The warranty covers the replacement of the defective parts.

HOW DO AQUAVITRO DIVISION ™ SKIMMERS WORK?

The Aquavitro skimmers or skimmer are used to remove pollutants from the saltwater aquarium water , such as proteins, pigments, phenols, albumin, etc. With a mixture of water and air produced in the reaction and the properties of salt water, a dense foam is generated and collected in the collection cup. Due to the fact that different pollutants accumulate in the foam, which is later extracted from the aquarium water, the total organic load of the aquarium is reduced .

In addition, in the division ™, the series skimmer will increase the oxygen content in the system , increasing the oxidation / reduction potential (redox level) and help with pH balance and overall system cleanliness.
